Apartments are shown by appointment only. Generally 24 hours advance notice is required to schedule a showing in order to give tenants currently residing in the unit advance notice. Appointments may be during the day, in the evening or on weekends.

Prospective tenants will be shown the unit they would like to rent then they will be asked to complete a rental appliance for each adult (18 yrs. or older) who will be living in the unit. Application may be come completed via paper application or online at rentingwinona.com. Once the application is received a computerized background and credit check will be run on each adult. If the checks are favorable the landlord will contact the applicant to inform them their application has been accepted. A time will be scheduled for a lease signing.

Each prospective tenant over the age of 18 years must complete a rental application. Once the application is received, prospective tenants will receive an email from TransUnion Smart Move asking them for a release to run a background/credit check. Once the tenant has responded to the email, the background/credit check the check will be run. TransUnion will provide landlord information on your criminal history, credit score and any past evictions. There is a $40.00 fee for each background/credit check run which must be paid by the prospective tenant(s). If the results are favorable and the prospective tenant signs a lease a credit equal to the application fee(s) will be applied to their first month’s rent. If the results are unfavorable or the prospective tenant chooses not to sign lease the application fee is not refunded.

Yes, a security deposit equal to one month’s rent will be collected at the time the lease is signed. Apartment security deposit plus interest less carpet shampooing, damages, excessive cleaning charges, and any unpaid balances will be returned within 21 days of tenant vacating apartment or lease terminating whichever is later.
